HSNY’s latest exhibit, “The Evolution of Seiko and Grand Seiko,” takes visitors on a captivating journey through the history, craftsmanship, and artistry of Japanese watchmaking, focusing on the iconic brands Seiko and Grand Seiko.
This exhibit showcases a selection of exceptional timepieces that, for the first time, have traveled from The Seiko Museum Ginza. Highlights range from the early 19th-century wadokei to the Seikosha Laurel, Japan’s first wristwatch, the groundbreaking Seiko Quartz Astron, and the inaugural Grand Seiko 3180 model.
Attendees will have the unique chance to delve into the intricate designs and technological innovations that elevated Japan’s watchmaking reputation. The exhibit includes game-changing pieces such as railroad watches, self-winding chronographs, Olympic timers, the first wristwatch with a built-in audio recorder, and the revolutionary Spring Drive.
